About Me

My name is David Rauenzahn, and I am an aspiring author. Since I was young, I have always created stories in my head, weaving together different personas of who I could be, what challenges I would face, and what I could achieve. It wasn't until later in life that I realized I could express it as a story. Needless to say, I quickly found that expressing these ideas was exceedingly more difficult than making them up. But I have been inspired by how art affects how we see and experience the world, and the ignition of spirit it can evoke within us to reach for what is calling to us and to become authentically ourselves through the fires of tribulation.

In college, I studied religion, focusing particularly on the mysticism of various traditions, and I became obsessed with understanding what everything means and why it exists in the first place. Since graduating college, I have been continuing that quest, though I have had some humbling experiences along the way. One way in which I am pursuing these esoteric truths is through writing fantasy novels, as I believe that the symbolism of magick, angels, demons, etc. are valuable metaphors for understanding human consciousness. Writing has been an ecstatic, depressing, frustrating, eye-opening, and wondrous journey I look forward to sharing with all of you.
